Accommodations

Camp Birchwood’s cabins are outfitted to be quaint, clean and comfortable. Every cabin is unique but all of them are brightly lit with sunny front porches to encourage neighborly visiting. Each is equipped with electricity, running water, a private bathroom stall, comfortable bunk beds, and individual cubbies for personal belongings. Cabins can be heated if necessary, have thermoregulated ventilation systems, and have plenty of open air ventilation for warm summer days.

A home away from home

Each cabin houses six to twelve girls in one central room, with an open doorway to the counselor’s quarters. Two to three college-age women live, lead and supervise each cabin group.

Girls live in groups that are of similar age and grade, and who attend for the same session length.

Campers are invited to spend time in the cabin together at the large tables that are provided in the center of the room.

Clotheslines are used for drying swimsuits and life jackets, and soft, wood-chip pathways join all of the cabins together into a cohesive community. Hot showers and restrooms—cleaned and sanitized daily—are located in the camp shower house, a short walk away from any cabin.
