Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
At camp we serve these fresh out of the oven - warm and gooey. Make sure you have a tall glass of ice cold milk to accompany these - or - we suggest a dollop of vanilla ice cream!
Thanks to Maeve N. and her family for making these amazing bars at home and taking photos for us!
Ingredients:
2 ¼ cups unbleached flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips
Step One:
Preheat oven to 375°. Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Step Two:
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to combine: set aside.
Step Three:
In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Gradually add in the flour mixture. Then stir in chocolate chips.
Step Four:
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars. Enjoy!!
