Requirements For Attendance
Those who attend Camp Birchwood will be willing and able to be positive members of our community. This includes following the camp rules, abiding by cabin guidelines, practicing good manners, respecting others, showing kindness, and behaving appropriately in each situation. It also includes trying new things, meeting new people, and having fun! We also require that campers arrive on time and stay for the entirety of their session.
The Birchwood Promise
Our special community fosters kindness, respect, inclusion, and teamwork. Birchwood was built on the notion that “what is fair for one, is fair for all” and we ask for everyone’s support in this practice. It is unacceptable to make fun of, demean, bully or put down others. Campers are expected to practice The Golden Rule, follow camp rules, and respect the authority of our camp leaders.
We intend to have an environment that is free from discrimination and void of violence, intimidation, and/or harassment based on race, creed, color, national origin, religious beliefs, or disability. Possession and/or use of tobacco, alcohol, and/or illegal drugs is grounds for dismissal. We do not tolerate emotional or physical abuse or the threat of abuse.
Children who engage in harmful and disruptive behavior may require dismissal. For the protection of every child’s interest and the overall camp experience, we reserve the right to dismiss a camper for any reason, without refund. In these situations, parents are notified immediately and are responsible for all travel expenses - including the purchase of plane tickets, ticket change fees, Unaccompanied Minor form purchases, etc.
